DirectX Buster is a program to uninstall DirectX in Windows 9X, ME and 2000. This program will perform a complete uninstall of any DirectX version from 5 to 9. In most cases, will uninstall DirectX 10, too. The program will warn you not to install it if you´re running a different Windows version, such as XP, Vista or Seven. Doing that will not only be useless, but harmful, since DirectX libraries work somewhat different on newer versions of Windows, and the results are unpredictable. If you intend to uninstall DirectX 9 in Windows XP, the author gives a link to other utility in his page. When you install DirectX Buster, the program will ask you to put your original Windows CD in your drive, because it needs to load some files from it, in order to restore your original configuration. Then, it will create a folder to backup the changed files, and the registry, for allowing you to rollback the process if anything goes wrong. Once the backup is finished, it will perform the necessary modifications and deletions. Pressing the "Details" button you will see a list of the changes performed in your system.
